About Me
Growing up as the daughter of a Black social worker in the South profoundly shaped my worldview, instilling in me a deep awareness of systemic oppression and its impact on mental health. My early work as a clinical social worker gave me firsthand insight into these challenges, which now drives my commitment to addressing inequities in mental health care, particularly for Black communities. My current research seeks to connect theoretical frameworks across social work, psychology, and digital studies with practical approaches that prioritize the unique mental health needs of Black women. A key focus of my work is exploring how technology can be leveraged to provide culturally congruent care for historically marginalized populations.
